Cyber Resilience, AI, and Identity Security at IBM Security Day 2026
As proud sponsors of IBM Security Day 2026, Smartis joined cybersecurity experts, IT leaders, and business decision-makers to discuss emerging threats, AI-driven security, and modern approaches to cyber resilience.
As digital environments continue to evolve, cyber threats are becoming increasingly sophisticated, targeted, and automated. According to SI-CERT data, Slovenia has recorded a significant increase in cybersecurity incidents in recent years, highlighting the growing importance of proactive and modern security strategies.
Today, cybersecurity is no longer viewed solely as a technical challenge. It has become a strategic business priority directly connected to operational continuity, data protection, reputation, and organizational trust.
IBM Security Day 2026 was dedicated to helping organizations better understand modern security risks and prepare for the challenges of the AI-driven digital era.
Held at Dvor Jezeršek, the event gathered security professionals, IT decision-makers, and industry experts for a day focused on practical insights, emerging trends, and modern security approaches.
Addressing Modern Security Challenges
Throughout the event, experts discussed key topics shaping today’s cybersecurity landscape, including AI-powered threat detection, identity protection, ransomware resilience, and securing critical business information.
Particular attention was given to the role of artificial intelligence and advanced analytics in improving threat detection and enabling faster, more proactive responses to security incidents.
Sessions also explored the importance of protecting digital identities, securing privileged access, and strengthening data protection strategies across increasingly complex IT environments.
In addition, discussions focused on early ransomware detection and recovery approaches using verified and secure backup copies to help minimize operational disruption.
Presenting IBM Vault and Identity Security
One of the highlights of the event was the presentation delivered by our colleague Jakob Matek, who introduced the topic “Identity as the Foundation of Security – IBM Vault.”
The session demonstrated how IBM Vault supports secure secret management, centralized access control, and protection of sensitive information within modern IT infrastructures.
The presentation also highlighted how organizations can improve control over privileged credentials, reduce operational risks, and strengthen overall security practices.
Knowledge Sharing and Industry Collaboration
In addition to the presentations and technical sessions, IBM Security Day 2026 provided an excellent opportunity for networking, professional discussions, and knowledge exchange between experts working across cybersecurity and digital transformation.
The event once again highlighted the importance of collaboration, continuous learning, and proactive security strategies in helping organizations remain prepared for evolving cyber risks.
We would like to thank the organizers for delivering a highly successful event and everyone involved for the valuable discussions and insights throughout the day.
We are already looking forward to future collaborations and upcoming events.
