Why does the Slovenian energy sector need solutions like ALiEnS-SOC? Slovenia’s electro-energy system is highly interconnected – transmission, distribution, IT and industrial systems all rely on each other.  That means one vulnerability can quickly become a sector-wide problem. 

At the same time, the environment is becoming more complex. More connected systems mean more entry points for attackers, while threats themselves are becoming more advanced – from ransomware to attacks targeting industrial control systems.  

Visibility across IT and OT environments is still limited, and the gap between current capabilities and the level of resilience required for critical infrastructure remains a challenge.  

Cyber threats are no longer isolated incidents – they move fast and spread across systems. This is why ALiEnS-SOC exists. 

By combining AI, threat intelligence, and stronger collaboration, the project is helping build a more coordinated and resilient approach to cybersecurity in the energy sector.
